Some Updates

This is going to be a blog of random things.  I need to have up dates on my kids for when I make this into a book.
Elleree is going to preschool and is loving it.  She is starting to come home and do the songs and dances for us, and it cracks me up.

She has taken to wearing her sunglasses when she goes to bed at night.  We like to call her Hollywood!
It snowed the other day and Elleree has been hankering to go outside and play lately.
So Jason took her out and they made a snowman.
A guy from Jason's work made this really cute ruler/growth cart thing for us.  I have been wanting one ever since I saw one like it on Pintrest. I love it and the kids love seeing how tall they are getting!
Beckett is becoming such a little boy.
I buzzed his hair the other day, so he looks even older.  He is not longer my little baby, but my little boy.
I swear he is a puppy, he chews and bites everything and everyone.  He is starting to say words.  He says Uh-oh, dad, mom, no, dog, thank you and we are working on please and up.
Look how cute he is standing to get measured.  I could just eat him up.

Dillon is doing fine. He got the highest reading award in his class, it is a medal.  He is very proud of himself.  He just finished the Hunger Games series so that we can go to the movie together.  This is the same kid who was watching Lord of the Rings when he was five, we believe in over exposing our kids to violence so don't worry!  That's just how we roll.
We also got a letter in the mail saying that he is being tested for the Gifted and Talented program.  Jason said jokingly "I am a little disappointed, I was tested in first grade."  Dillon must have a little of his mom's genes in him after all.

Truman is his usual wild self. He hates all things to do with school except recesses.  He is however, very good at math, so we have to leave that for last when we do homework.
We went to visit my in-laws a couple of weeks ago and he saw a picture of me with my hair short.  He said, "mom why do you have your hair cut like a boy".  I said, " because I look cute with short hair"  He said,  "no you don't you look like a boy".  Then the next day at church he leans over to me and says, "hey mom that guy up there looks like you with short hair".  It was this old guy with hardly any hair at all.  Needless to say I am not going to cut my hair anytime soon, not if I want any self-esteem that is.
So far this winter we have been very blessed and have had not trips to the hospital.  Except to visit grandpa that is.  Grandpa go to go home on this week though.  He is very tired and had lost a ton of weight, but he is out and doing well and for that we are very grateful!  Thanks everyone for coming and visiting him and for your prayers.  I know they meant a lot to him!

Basketball 2012

Basketball season has come and almost gone already.  Both Dillon and Truman were once again the star of the show.  It might have been their own show, but still...
Dillon is the one that has his jersey on backwards.
He is actually a really good player!
He normally makes a few baskets, rebounds, and is working on the passing.
Here is a good one of him on the bench.
It's exhausting watching the game!
Truman is starting to get a little better this year.
He is getting good at dribbling the ball.  Truman has more pictures of him actually handling the ball because I took these pictures.  Jason took Dillon's, poor Dillon.... just say'n.
He is getting better at figuring out which basket is his, and who he is supposed to guard.
Making baskets is still a work in progress.
Basketball is a fun sport for me to watch.  I enjoy it, sometimes a little too much and Jason has to calm me down a bit.

Valentine's Day 2012

What a great day!  My kids woke up to these:

I found them for a $1.00 way cute right?!

I woke up to this.  Jason got me a new camera.  It is way too nice for me.  It is a Canon EOS Rebel T2i, for those of you who know anything about cameras (not me).  I am going to have to figure out how to use it, and take some good pictures.  Now I have no excuse for my bad pictures.
  Happy Valentines Day!

Sick Boy

This last week was not a very good week for us.  I learned on Monday that my dad had been admitted into the hospital.  He had been doing his chemo treatments, and was not doing well on them.  He had become dehydrated.  On Wednesday I decided to go and visit him.  He was in bad shape guys!  He has lost so much weight and was a mess.  His oncologist stopped the chemo treatments until he gets better. I was going to go home on Thursday after staying the night with my friend Lori (thanks for putting up with us!), but when I got to the hospital my dad was doing worse.  They did a CT scan on him and found that his bowls had a block (they told us they were twisted) and he also had pneumonia.  My mom asked if I would stay with her.  My mother-in-law came and got my kids (thank you so much Kay!) and took care of them all Thursday,  that night and part of Friday, until Jason could get there to pick them up.  I stayed until Saturday.  By then my dad was doing a little better,  his bowls had started up again, and they had him on some heavy duty antibiotics.  He no longer needed to be on oxygen, or as he said he took himself off of it. He is still in the hospital, and will be there for some time, I am afraid.
He did say some pretty funny things while he was on the pain drugs though.  My mom says that we will be able to make fun of him forever.  I wish that they didn't have to go through this.  I love this saying that I found Here.

Cancer is so limited.
It cannot destroy love, it cannot shatter hope.
It cannot corrode faith.
It cannot destroy people, it cannot kill friendship.
It cannot suppress memories, it cannot silence courage.
It cannot invade the soul, it cannot steal eternal life.
It cannot conquer the spirit.
