Truman Turns Seven

Seven is one of those, not very extraordinary birthdays, you know.  Truman's was so much so that I almost forgot it.  Don't worry I figured it out.
We invited grandparents to come and celebrate, and both sets were able to make it.  I even got balloons, which was quite a feat apparently there is a shortage of helium.  Found that out after I went to two different stores.  Next time I think I will just call.
Here is the cake.  Okay, let's just get it out of the way, it looks....well bad I know.  Here is the thing I tried to frost it the way my cousin (who is like a professional) told me she does it.  She doesn't freeze it.  Long story short there is a defendant crumb layer.  They other thing is I let Truman do the mouth,  I don't think it looks too bad all things considered.
Here is the birthday boy.  He gets so excited he can't hardly stand it.
Yeah, I kind of forgot the candles so we lit matched.  It didn't work so hot,(not pun intended) but what do you do.  I mean besides actually going out and buying candles like a normal person would.
So he blew out the matches.
This is just a cute picture I had to put in.
Truman did get a lot of presents and that is what is important, right.
Lots and lots of legos.  They are his all time favorite.
This is the real birthday boy, he is crazy but we love him!

It's a yearly thing.

There are some things I did, this last week, that I think I want to start making a yearly thing.  One of those things is going to Ross Park in Pocatello with my friend Jamie and her kids.  I miss her terribly, and so it is way nice to see her.  I want to make sure we get together every year and do this.
This is some of the crew.  She has twins Elleree's age (Reese and Addie), and an older daughter Truman's age (Ellie).
Beckett was causing problems, crawling up on the cooler.  This picture was taken after he had already peed all over me (don't ask).  Can anyone tell me exactly what swimmer diapers do?
Poor Dillon I don't have many friends that have kids his age to play with, so he hangs out by himself a lot.
Truman as always loves to play with Ellie,  they have a good time together.
Elleree with Addie playing in the kiddie pool.

The other thing I got to do was go shopping with my friend Katie and her two daughters.  She planned and all girls trip to Salt Lake City to shop for two days.  It was a ton of fun.  Elleree got to come too, and she thought she was pretty special.  I think that I would like to take a girls trip every year, even if just Elleree and I go by ourselves.  It would be nice.

Redfish 2012

Every year we go and this year was no exception.  Redfish is a tradition that has been in my family since before I was born.
We get together as many friends and family as we can then we camp, ski and eat, not always in that order though.
This year we are trying to get Truman up on two skies.

He is a big chicken, he gets up, like in this picture and then would just sits back down and lets go of the rope.
My dad didn't get to ski this year, he just finished a round of chemo, and was pretty tired.  We were just glad he was there.
Dillon has been trying really hard to get up on one ski, so I decided to let him try wake boarding.  I don't want my kids to wake board until after they learn how to ski, because if they do, they will see how much easier it is and not what to skiing anymore.  Skiing takes a lot more energy, balance, and coordination than wake boarding.
Dillon never understood what I meant by it being easier, until he tried it himself.  He popped right up the first time, now he understands.  He says he still wants to water ski, but can he please have a wake board for his Christmas or Birthday present.  Didn't see that one coming.

My aunt and uncle always try to come and some of my cousins ( the ones we grew up with and are really close to) were able to make it too.  It is always fun with them.  This is a picture of one of my cousins Darcie, and her newest baby Megan.
Playing all day in the water and the sand are a must, especially for the kids....and Jason.
Beckett was not really a fan of either, but he would have his moments.
My cousin brought this huge tube thing.  It was a ton of fun.
Jason was the first person to ever successfully flip the whole thing over and have all the riders fall off.  He is kind of a crazy driver, but it was great.
We celebrated my brother Ivan's birthday while we were there, and Truman ate some cake.  Don't worry he only threw up once in the tent.
Sometimes it is very exhausting having so much fun.
This is just a good picture of my cute husband in his orange J town sweat shirt.  Go Jerome.......
Paisley (Ivan's daughter) got to come.  She and Elleree were funny together.  Elleree is almost a year older than Paisley, but they are almost the same height.  Paisley's little attitude just cracks me up.
The trip turned out better than I expected and, for the most part, it was great to see all my family.

Ivan's Wedding

So my little brother Ivan, who is the baby of the family got married again this past month.  We were invited and able to go to the wedding.
Ivan seems really happy which he has not been for a long time.
Beckett was his usual monster self.
Dillon was my big helper he kept track of all the kids for me and ran around doing what ever I asked him to do.
My mom made the cake, and she was really disappointed with how it turned out.  It was a very liner cake, so any shifting or settling (which cakes always do) was accentuated.  She felt like it was all topsy tervy.  I don't think it looked too bad.
Elleree was one of the flower girls.  We were all disappointed, because the dresses didn't show up in time, so they had to borrow some.  Oh well Elleree was cute any way.
Pierce was the ring bearer and did a fantastic job.  The wedding and reception was in Dakota's parents backyard.
The ceremony was hotter than hell, and I'm not even going to apologize for saying that, because it was.  I swear we all almost melted.  All of the men in Ivan's line had to wear pink shirts, which they all absolutely loved, NOT.
Dakota was beautiful, and cute as a button.
Beckett found a hole in their backyard that he loved to play in.
I had to put this in because this is classic Beckett is always tackling Elleree and hitting her.  Even though she is twice his size.
That is the look of the monster.
Elleree changed out of the dress as soon as she could.  She said she didn't like it, she is kind of a snob sometimes.
Some of my cousins were there.  This is Garrett, he is the same age as Ivan.
The kids were constantly beating him up and he was such a good sport.
The cute couple before they cut the cake.
Dakota got him soooo good.  I was really proud of her.
The first dance as husband and wife.
Which didn't last long, because Pierce and Truman wanted to join in too.
Truman thinks Dakota is the bomb.  So does Ivan's daughter Pasley, she was not able to come to the wedding.  She calls Dakota "my kota", it is way cute.
All the kids got their grove on, and we had a lot of fun.
Two of my mom's sisters where able to make it to the wedding, so that was awesome.
My mom with Dillon, he wouldn't dance with me, but he would with her.
My cousin Betsy and I (and my brother Heath).  She is one of the cousins from the family we are supper close to.  She lives in Arizona, so I don't get to see her as much as I would like.  I didn't hang out with her enough when she was here.
That was Ivan's wedding.
