Price Mic Vaden

This last weekend my brother Heath blessed the newest addition to his family, Mr. Price Mic Vaden.
He is a sweet little thing.
He is also a very good little baby.
My mom and I took turns holding him and he didn't cry once the whole time.
 He just sat and cooed.
I say he is the missing link between my brothers other two sons.  You can see both of them in him.
This is one of them Mr. Man Peyton.  I never did get any pictures of Pierce, he and Truman took off together and were never seen again.
 They had a lunch afterwards.
Ivan was there with his wife, so my whole family was able to make it except for Alli.  Unfortunately that is how it is going to be from now on.  At least she misses all the drama too.

My mom made this amazing quilt for Price.  It is so stinking cute I couldn't stand it.
These pictures don't do it justice.
I am glad we got to see family and bless Price.

Camping at Stone

We took one last camping trip this year.
My aunt and uncle invited us to go to Stone Reservoir with them.
We didn't have the best weather, one night we even had to sleep in Kit and Kent's camper because it rained so bad it flooded our tent.
It was nice to sit and BS with my aunt and uncle.  They take such good care of us. The kids played had a good time.  We also got to see my cousin Doug, who didn't get to go to Redfish this year.
We were even able to get the boat in even though the water level was so low.
I liked the campsites, they were all grassy and nice.  I guess we used to go here when I was a kid, but I don't remember it at all.
This is how Beckett has decided he likes to ride his bike.  I enjoyed myself and it was very relaxing, which was something I really needed.  Thanks Kit and Kent.

Fair 2012

Ah yes the fair.  Once a year it comes around and every year I say I am not going and every year I do.
This year my mom came to help me, because Jason couldn't come.
We went on the first day the fair was open and they didn't have any of the rides set up yet.
So we went around to every booth and barn they had to offer.
The kids as always loved the petting zoo.
These are the little pot belly pigs and their babies.  Aren't the babies adorable, I always tell Jason that I want one for a pet.
They had this tiny zip line from these guys for free and Truman loved it.
Dillon didn't do it because he wanted to watch the hypnotist.
 They flipped him.
Then sent him on his way.  He had a lot of fun.
Elleree's favorite ride as always is the carousel.
My mom was awesome for coming and she rode all the rides with the kids too.  I have a great mom.

Kristy's Bridal Shower

Jason's sister (my sister in-law)Kristy is getting married in a week and I am super excited for her!  It has been a long time since we have had a wedding.  Well, I mean on his side of the family, in my family they happen every couple of years it seems.  Any way I decided to throw Kristy a bridal shower.
The decorations turned out pretty cute.
I spent way too much time, money and energy on them.
This bride sign is my favorite.
I made special table cloths, and they didn't even fit the tables.  I decided that the church has abnormally long tables.
I wanted it to be really special for Kristy.  We played bingo, and I had lottery tickets for the games.
The tables were fun, and had lots of color.
I sewed this pennant banner, it took me forever.  It looked way long at my house, but at the church it only went back and forth once in one room.
These were my party favors.  So to end I have some bad karma with showers of any kind.  I have thrown one before where literally no one came. We ended up inviting the groom and the brides father to play games and stuff so it wasn't all just wasted.  Anyway I was prepared for 30 people, 13 people came and that includes the bride and me.  Oh well I know Kristy appreciated it and she got some great presents.  Thanks everyone who helped and came, you rock!!
Next time I told Jason, I am just going to make reservations at a restaurant and pay for everyone's meal.  No stress, no clean up, or set up, and less expensive.

Trying to shake things up

So, I was trying for a little variety.  You know mixing it up a bit I decided to take my kids, with my friend to the Twin Falls Museum at CSI.
My friend has five kids in the space I have four, all girls.  These two are about the same age.  Beckett ended up knocking this over, and she said "he did it, he did it".
The Museum was actually not that bad all things considered.
They had quite a few different displays and some cool hands on stuff.
They had these magnifying glasses that the kids really thought were cool.
I didn't take pictures of the kids faces on purpose.  My friend is very private about her family, and isn't comfortable with pictures of her kids being online where anyone can see them.  Which I totally get and respect!
My kids are kind of jaded (aka spoiled), so they were not that impressed.
They just kind of roamed around.
Beckett got a hold of a magnifying glass.  He thought that you were supposed to lick it I guess because that's what he kept doing.
Once he threw it and broke it, that was a bit embarrassing.
At points I was glad that he licked the magnifying glass instead of other things.
They learn how to drill into things with wood, string, and some rock.
Later we went and visited the rose garden at CSI and on the way back it started to rain.  In the car Truman informed me that "this was the worst day of my entire life".  Apparently they didn't have as much fun as I think they should have.  So much for trying to shake things up a bit.

Truman Turns Seven

Seven is one of those, not very extraordinary birthdays, you know.  Truman's was so much so that I almost forgot it.  Don't worry I figured it out.
We invited grandparents to come and celebrate, and both sets were able to make it.  I even got balloons, which was quite a feat apparently there is a shortage of helium.  Found that out after I went to two different stores.  Next time I think I will just call.
Here is the cake.  Okay, let's just get it out of the way, it looks....well bad I know.  Here is the thing I tried to frost it the way my cousin (who is like a professional) told me she does it.  She doesn't freeze it.  Long story short there is a defendant crumb layer.  They other thing is I let Truman do the mouth,  I don't think it looks too bad all things considered.
Here is the birthday boy.  He gets so excited he can't hardly stand it.
Yeah, I kind of forgot the candles so we lit matched.  It didn't work so hot,(not pun intended) but what do you do.  I mean besides actually going out and buying candles like a normal person would.
So he blew out the matches.
This is just a cute picture I had to put in.
Truman did get a lot of presents and that is what is important, right.
Lots and lots of legos.  They are his all time favorite.
This is the real birthday boy, he is crazy but we love him!
