Easter 2013

It has come, another Easter.  This one was a whirlwind a.k.a very stressful.  We got home Friday night from our trip, celebrated Elleree's birthday on Saturday and went right into Easter on Sunday.
We decorated eggs on Saturday night.  Always fun.
I love how excited the kids get.  I wish I could enjoy it more, but I always get flustered.
Beckett liked to show me his eggs before and after.
Dillon showed up for part of it.  He thinks he is too old for this stuff.
Grandpa couldn't help himself and decided to help decorate a couple of eggs too.  My parents decided to stay another day so they could be here for Easter.
Elleree gave it a thumbs up.
Easter morning, the Easter bunny brought Beckett more Cars cars.
They each got tons of candy and fun stuff.

Jason hid a bunch of eggs, this is what was left after Beckett found them.
Here are the kids in their Easter clothes.  I let them each pick out their own this year, so they don't match each other at all, but that is okay.  They look pretty good anyway.

Spring Break 2013

I am crazy....but you already knew that.  I wanted to go some place for spring break this year because I needed to leave this area for a bit.  I needed a break!  Jason was not able to get enough days off to really go any where, so I recruited my parents.  My Uncle Scott had some pieces of furniture, things that he was giving to my mom (and she to me) so I decided to make a trip of it.  I got a hitch put on the traverse and we headed to Southern California.
I haven't been to visit my aunt and uncle since before I was pregnat with Dillon.
They have this salt water tank that the kids loved.
They also have this gorgious house with a beautiful view.  It is very not kid friendly pristine hard wood floors, expensive fruniture and decor.  I spent the whole trip on edge just praying that my kids wouldn't ruin something.
Aside from a couple of "accidents"  they did pretty good.  I think my uncle was pretty relieved when we finally pulled out.  I rented a uhaul and filled it with some cool stuff!  My uncle and his wife are redoing their house and had some antiques that don't fit in with their decor anymore.  They fit right in with mine though!
While we were there we went to the beach.  This is like the only picture I will allow of myself, lets just say that there are a few pictures of me in my bathing suit hanging in my kitchen now to motivate me to loose weight.  YIKES!!
The beach was freezing!  I put my dad in charge of taking pictures, he got some really cute ones.
Beckett was not interested in even touching the water.  He just ran from it.

Dillon dived right in, he has no nerve endings I decided.
Grandma was good for looking for shells, or digging for sand crabs.
I didn't have any sand toys so we just used oreo containers.  I'm pretty white trash like that!  We did pick them up when we were done though, that is something right?

This was so funny!  Truman wanted my uncle to bury him in the sand, so Scott says "dig a whole and I will".  So Truman dug a hole and laid down in it.  Scott started to bury him. Beckett decided to help, he filled a container with sand and poured it right on Truman's face.
I had to rinse it out of his mouth and eyes.  It was bad, but really funny.  Beckett couldn't figure out what the big deal was.
This is the only picture I got of my uncle.  Really I didn't do that go of job getting pictures at all.

We ended up with sand every where.

I was finally able to drag Dillon away and we headed home.
The next day we went to Salvang California.  It's this cute little Danish town with all these cute shops and tons of Bakeries.  At one bakery my mom bought one of each thing and we sampled them all, making ourselves very sick.
We left my aunt and uncle and drove to Vegas.  We stayed with my cousins Doug and Travis.  Travis took me out on the town one night and we had a good time(I only lost a little money.  The kids played in my aunt's pool and we enjoyed the warm weather.  We also visited my grandma, and once again I suck and didn't get any pictures.  While we were there we had to celebrate Elleree's 5th birthday, so make sure you check out that post.  We drove home a day earlier that we were going to because my cousin was getting her endowments out in the Twin Falls temple, and we wanted to make sure we made it back for that.

It was a good trip and I had fun.  I am super grateful that my parents were willing to come with me and stick it out with the kids.  I have such great parents.  I am also grateful that I have a husband who works so hard so that we can go play.

Elleree's 5th Birthday

My baby girl is 5.  What!!!!

We were in Vegas for Elleree's actual birthday.  When asked what she wanted to do Chucky Cheese.  Surprise, Surprise.
We headed there with my cousins, mom and dad, and grandma (Elleree's great grandma).  Travis went around with Elleree and helped her play the games and scored her the most tickets ever!  Have I told you my cousins ROCK!  My kids call them uncle Doug and Travis.
Elleree wasn't as spunky as she normally would have been because she had and ear infection.  I just drugged her up and we were good.  No worries, I am the best mom ever!
Had to have her picture with Chucky himself.  She is one spoiled kid.
We celebrated her birthday for real when we got back on Saturday.  That way her daddy could be a part of it.
One of my awesome cakes, lalaloopsy as requested.
Five candles, gulp, sob my baby is getting big.
 But she sure is cute!
She was spoiled, lalaloopsys, princesses, and hello kitty were the gifts of the day.  No owls!
I got this shirt and said it was from Allison, I couldn't help it.
 Another big lalaloopsy play set.
Allison's real present, cash.  It was the biggest hit!
Happy 5th Birthday turkey girl!  We love you the mostest!

Science Guy

A few years back Jason and Dillon tried to do a science project, it didn't turn out too well.  There was some procrastination, and lack of interest.  This year in Dillon's class it was mandatory to do a science project, and I was bound and determined that history was not going to repeat it's self.
First I let Dillon pick his own project.  Don't get me wrong I steered him to sites on line that had ideas, but it was all him and what he was interested in.
He saw a video about mentos and coke and that sparked his interest.
He wanted to know if it would work on all soda, or just coke. Soooo a couple bucks later, after buying three(because it's not a proper experiment without three) of every kind of soda we could find and tons of mentos, we had ourselves an experiment.
We filmed it, took pictures and got proper measurements.  Turns out it actually works the best with root beer.
Then we put together his project.  It was not easy but we did it and he got first prize for his class!
He learned a bit along the way about various things like nucleus sites(or something like that)...because he had to give an oral presentation.
This kid is great and I am so proud of him.  I am constantly asking myself where he came from.  Not from me that is for sure.
