Basketball 2014

The basketball season has come and gone, and we survived.  I actually really like basketball, but there are always exceptions it seems.

Truman is seriously the most painful child to watch play basketball.
He has still not figured out how to play.  Every time he got the ball he would do this, hold it protectively until someone took it away from him.
There were other times that he would jump up and down like he is about to in this picture.  They don't call traveling in this league, or he would have had it called every time.  Now you have to understand,  these things are things he would do, when he wasn't begging his coach to take him out because he was too tired.  Seriously painful!
Dillon on the other hand is a ton of fun to watch.  He gets the game, and may not be the best, but tries with all he's got.
His team was pretty good this year they only lost one game.  He is getting better at handling the ball and shooting.  I am proud of the way he gets the game.  He picks up on the other teams plays and uses it against them.
I know I should be a better mom and tell you both of them are fun to watch, but I'm not!  My kids can always count on me to be honest.  Basketball is not for everyone!  Maybe next year I will do myself the favor of not signing Truman up.

Valentine's Day 2014

My kids are so spoiled.  I swear there is not a holiday that goes by that they don't score big time.
This year, Jason got them each a valentine from See's candy, I got them candy like I always do in a their little mailbox, and my mom sent them a bag of goodies too.
We haven't even gotten rid of all the Christmas candy yet.
Truly I can't talk about the kids being spoiled because I am just as spoiled.  Jason got me a new set of serving dishes and new plates.  We have never had new plates.  We got the ones we have been useing from the DI when we got married.  They worked well for 14 years, but Jason said it was time, and who am I to argue!
I started have a valentine's party a few years back.  We have a chocolate fountain and just invite a few couples and their kids over to play games and have fun.
We always play the newly wed game, to see how many fights we can all get into before the night is over.  It's a good time!  Normally Jason and I score the lowest, even though we have been married the longest.  I don't know what that says about us, but each year we learn something new about each other.

Pinewood Derby 2014

Jason had his work cut out for himself this year.  He had both Dillon and Truman in the Pinewood Derby, so he had to make 2 cars.
I loved these pictures.  Jason needed all the help he could get, I'm just not sure this is what he had in mind.
Beckett on the other hand was loving it.  Jason is seriously the most patient dad ever!
Dillon's car won 3rd place he was pretty happy.
Truman's car lost every race, he was not very happy.  Such is life, you can't win everything.

I Turned Old

I have decided it is time to stop telling everyone how old I am.  I had another birthday on January 9th, and it was fabulous!
I went out to lunch with a few friends.  This is amazing because, as I have said before, I have had a hard time making friends.  These ladies put up with me and we have fun.
The kids all made me pictures and really the most wonderful presents ever!
Jason got me a new MP3 player to listen to my audio books on.  I was super excited!
Jason also made me a German chocolate cake which is my favorite, and they put a ton of candles on it.  I did have help blowing them out thank goodness.
Me with my little nut monkeys.  I can honestly say this was one of the best birthdays ever!

14 Years and counting

On the 30th of December Jason and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversery.
This is us 15 years ago ready to go on a date.  No, Jason didn't always dress like a soldier for our dates, he is weird but not that weird.
A picture of us the night he proposed to me.
Our Wedding day December 30th 1999.

 On our honeymoon.

Fourteen years later.  We haven't changed a bit, okay Jason wears glasses now, but that is it!

I have to tell my husband how much I love him each year.  Yes, just once a year.  I am so blessed to have such a wonderful companion.  He is a wonderful provider for our family, I take for granted how well he takes care of us, and how hard he works.  He is a fabulous father.  His kids adore him and know that he loves them.  He is a great husband.  He listens to me whine and complain, sometimes he falls asleep.  He is spread so thin with work, his calling and the kids but he always tries to make time for me.  I am spoiled rotten by him.  I love you Jason!

Christmas Break

Every year Jason's family gets together, either for Thanksgiving or Christmas.  They rent a place and we all go and hang out.  This year we went to the Victor/Driggs area and rented a cabin there.
Jason's Dad is buried in the Darby cemetery not far from where our cabin was.
The first day there we took a trip to visit his grave.
Then Jason hooked up some sleds to the back of the car.
The kids took turns flying around the cemetary.  We had a ton of fun, some of us adults even tried it.
It was so funny to watch, Jason's dad would have enjoyed it.  He would have laughed very hard.  It is difficult for all of us not having him there.
Dillon and Josh are best friend cousins.  When they are together it is like they only have one brain.
They kept trying all sorts of stunts and falling off.  It got to the point we wouldn't even stop if they fell off, they had to run and jump back on.
We blazed quite the trail around the cemetery.  No one was going to get stuck visiting there loved ones graves.  Well, I may have gotten stuck, but just once.
At the cabin we ate, played games.....
watched movies, soaked in the hot tub and we slept a little too.
We had gorgious whether while we were there.  Beckett and I went for a walk.
We went cross country skiing which was awesome.  I had never tried it before and found it was actually quite a bit like my nordic trec.
 The kids went sleding.
 This I did not try.
Possibly because it went from this.
To this.

We had a good time.  It was nice to be able to spend time as a family.  It was relaxing for me after such a hectic Christmas.  I am thankful for Jason's wonderful family.  I am grateful that they get together so often and could not ask for better people in my life!

Christmas 2014

We spent Christmas Eve here at home.  It was supposed to be a nice evening with our family......
I started the day making waseal.  I have never in my life attempted to make it, but was told it would make my house smell good.  So I gave it a whirl.  I did not make my house smell good, and Jason said it was a waste of good apple cidar, but I thought is was tasty.
The kids wanted to do something special, so we set the table all fancy.  Then Jason called and said he had invited a family of 6 to spend the evening with us.  What?  Change of plans.  We had to clean the house and come up with extra table settings, and food.  Then after the kids had waited for 45 minutes from when they were suposed to be here.  They showed up, and had already eaten.  Lets just say that was about how the rest of the night was and leave it at that.
Here are the kids in there jammies.  I made them all pretend that they were sleeping, because Beckett really did fall asleep.
The Big Day.  We opened presents, Truman got a train set.  I think this the only picture I got where Jason wasn't in it too.  Jason loves himself a train set!
Dillon got a tablet.  He was pretty happy about that.  You can see the carnage in the background.
Beckett got a scooter..the picture is blurry, because I never could get him to sit still with it.
Elleree got a Barbie Doll house, that is bigger than she is.
Christmas is always hard for me.  I worry that the kids will be disappointed with what they got.  I anticipation is always out of control.  I think we did pretty good.
These are my bird house and bird feeder.  They are so cute.  I also got a treadmill, love it!  Jason got a universal remote that works through walls.  If you have been to our house you know why.
This was my favorite present though.  Elleree made this huge poster it is so cute!
After we opened our presents we packed up and headed to Victor/Driggs where Jason's family rented a cabin for us.
