So we planned a trip to Mackay on Memorial weekend. Problem was, you guessed it the whole week before the kids were sick. I ended up getting it on Friday night (after Elleree spent the whole day sitting on my lap coughing in my face). Saturday was miserable because I was sick and it was Elleree and Beckett's worst day yet so we decided not to go. Then Sunday we woke up and the kids were fine, I was still the only one sick. Needless to say that was not enough of a deterrent for Jason, so off we went. Monday the kids had a great day. That Morning he took the kids fishing.
They spent the day playing outside. Then that evening we had a BBQ, and roasted marshmallows on my mom's new fire pit we got her for Christmas. To answer your question, no I did not get dressed that day, remember I was sick.
Notice how I said mom's fire pit, because we gave it to both my parents, but my dad did not want it.
No, this is not my dad mad because the fire pit burned a spot on the deck, because it did. He just always looks like this.
The kids enjoyed themselves. Turns out you can make some pretty good smores using Oreos and marshmallows instead of the usual ingredients. Just so you know.
As we were leaving a moose decided to take a little jaunt through the tourist park.
I have never seen a moose in the tourist part before, it was kind of cool.

Ahhh Des! I love you! You make me laugh out loud EVERY time you post!
And you got some classic photos to accompany your profound words too. I had tought about getting a firepit - and am glad to hear about the hole in the deck business. At least your dad is able to fix a hole - it would just remain a nasty hole or an incredibly botched up patch at my home... the moose is fantastic! I love seeing those - they just look like a couple of different animals strung together. And it always amazes me how smoothly and swiftly they can move.
But, I'm rambling...
Too funny!
If you can't laugh at it all... it just becomes too much.
I'm sorry I missed seeing you all.. but WILL see you sooooooon!
I love how you find humor in EVERYTHING! You should become a writer for a family sitcom...you've got some good material, I think.
Looks like a fun trip and WOW that moose was really neat!
I have NEVER seen a moose at the tourist park--not certain I've ever seen one that close even (though I have seen them). The firepit is awesome--even with the burnt deck. It will be fun to try out in the winter as well--though it did look like it might be a tad chilly that day. Sorry about the sick thing but it looks like everyone rallied to end on a good note. I didn't even question the attire--sick or not why would you need to dress differently :-)
