It's in the Bag

So if there was any question, two days into the New Year, I have won the mother of the year award.  It is awarded to me for being the first mom to hurt my child this year.
I was vacuuming and decided that I wanted to vacuum under the couch.  First I needed to get all the crap out from under it, so that is what I did.  But, like the good parent I am I didn't turn off the vacuum while I did it.  Enter Beckett.  He knocked the vacuum over, no big deal, right?  Apparently if you stick your baby hand into the vacuum while it is running, it does the above to it.  Who knew.....I mean really they should have a warning on there, you know like they do on the bottoms of lawn mowers. I mean it doesn't seem like common sense to me. Yeah, maybe I should sue them.  Yeah, it's not actually my fault for not paying enough attention to my son, or leaving the vacuum running.  It's the vacuum cleaner company's fault for not warning me that this could happen. Who is with me. Good grief, I suck, that's why  the mother of the year award is already in the bag!
Really I hurt Beckett to encourage him to walk.  Since it is hard for him to crawl with his hand like that he has been cruising all over the place.
He is still the cutest baby ever, with his monster smile.
I know Christmas is over, but I just finished this garland.  It is made of my old jeans that ripped on me this month, I don't want to talk about why, and my grandma's buttons that I got when she died.
I swear that it really is cute.  My pictures just don't do it justice.

Aw man!!!
It is SOO frustrating when stuff like that happens! And it does/has happened to us all...I could tell you stories - Kelsey slicing her hand up with a rotary fabric blade and going to school and not telling me about it...school calling- indignant secretary...you get the drift...
Mr. Beckett doesn't look too distressed with his lil sock puppet mitt...and seems pleased to be cruising on his feet.
So...stop the beating yourself up Missy! You ARE a fantastic mom!

Well that looks like a nasty injury, but I'm with Crazy... he looks pretty content there with that sock mitt on.

As for the worst mother of the year award...you'll have to work at that sort of negligence at least 4 times weekly.
Frankly, I don't think you are up to it.

(:

Things happen! Don't beat yourself up. The walking thing is a pretty awesome side benny (maybe since now he can get into more mischeif!). The tree garland is too cute and will remind you of grandma every year when you put it up. That's one of the things I love about Christmas--pulling out ornaments or decorations that have great memories attached to them.
