This last week was not a very good week for us. I learned on Monday that my dad had been admitted into the hospital. He had been doing his chemo treatments, and was not doing well on them. He had become dehydrated. On Wednesday I decided to go and visit him. He was in bad shape guys! He has lost so much weight and was a mess. His oncologist stopped the chemo treatments until he gets better. I was going to go home on Thursday after staying the night with my friend Lori (thanks for putting up with us!), but when I got to the hospital my dad was doing worse. They did a CT scan on him and found that his bowls had a block (they told us they were twisted) and he also had pneumonia. My mom asked if I would stay with her. My mother-in-law came and got my kids (thank you so much Kay!) and took care of them all Thursday, that night and part of Friday, until Jason could get there to pick them up. I stayed until Saturday. By then my dad was doing a little better, his bowls had started up again, and they had him on some heavy duty antibiotics. He no longer needed to be on oxygen, or as he said he took himself off of it. He is still in the hospital, and will be there for some time, I am afraid.

He did say some pretty funny things while he was on the pain drugs though. My mom says that we will be able to make fun of him forever. I wish that they didn't have to go through this. I love this saying that I found
Here.
Cancer is so limited. It cannot destroy love, it cannot shatter hope.It cannot corrode faith. It cannot destroy people, it cannot kill friendship. It cannot suppress memories, it cannot silence courage. It cannot invade the soul, it cannot steal eternal life.It cannot conquer the spirit.

You have all been in my prayers.
Thank you for getting the news to us all. It is hard knowing there is nothing I can do but pray.
I've wondered if I should call... but then worry I'll just interrupt.
Big big hugs and love from the desert.
Can I just add... I know it is ten thousand times harder for you being there.
Saw him last night...you are right on all counts. He is one tough cookie, but I hope he can get a break here soon so he can start to bounce back a bit.
That saying is spot on.
Love to you and all!
He has been in my prayers too!, I also put his name in the temple here when I went on Thursday. We ars all pulling for him!
