I am super excited about my newest project. I had to make a haunted house. Apperantly, don't ask me how I ended up getting assigned to be not only Truman's, but Dillon's "art mom" in school. Then the day after they both came home with the paper that informed me of that, Dillon came home with another paper that said I was also his "Room Parent". What ever that means.
I went to the meeting that was supposed to give us some insight on how to be an art mom, but the meeting was just a clever disguise to recruit people to the PTO. I ended up leaving after twenty minutes of the principal droning on about cleaning up some junior high (why can't they clean up their own school?). The principal and I don't get along, he doesn't know that yet, but he will. I also decided that I have no idea why they call it the PTO or PTA. It seems to me that they deal more with the administration, than the teachers. It should be called the Parent Administrators Organization, or the Parent Administrators Association, the PAO or PAA. Who's with me? Anyway here is my awesome haunted house that I was assigned to make.
Are you loving my photo shoot? I just see how cute other pictures are, so I am going to try harder to take better pictures. I know these still suck, but I am not giving up! Plus, for some reason the coloring is way off. The roof is not done in yellow, it is the same brown color as the sides of the house, whatever.
My house on the other hand rocks. Sure Dillon informed me after it was done that they may not like the fact that I put blood on it. Jason said to tell them it is rust. I thought it added some color, hopefully they will think so too.

Your haunted house is so great. Are the kids supposed to make them, or is this decoration for their class or what?
Whatever, they are lucky to have you adding your talents in any way.
I'm not so much concerned about the PTA/PTO thing as just being "assigned" a job for the school. Don't you have to consent to this?

Duh on the "art mom" thing, have you seen how crafty you have been??? I think is lame-o they just signed you up for anything you should have been ASKED and nicely I might add. Goodluck!!
Oh Man! That house ROCKS! You are fab-U-lous! Forget the whole PTO/PTA thing and do what YOU feel like doing as "art mom". Anything you do with the kids will be amazing and the teachers (if they have any brain cells still functioning) will be thrilled to have someone do anything.
I was an "art docent" for awhile for Jaron's class in WA (yes, 7 million years ago) and I would be happy to visit with you about that pre-historic experience if you'd like.
And actually I LOVE the photo shoot (you are WAY to hard on yourself!)
