I am so excited, I got a new calling I am in Scouts, over the Bears. My excitement is palpable, and if you don't sense my sarcasm seeping through...well then you don't know me very well. I have been in Scouts before, and it was good for me, it made me not hate it anymore. The reality is I have 3 boys, I should just go over to the dark side and embrace it. But, I am not quite to that point yet maybe it's the shirt I have to wear, Yikes.
We had the pinewood derby this week. Dillon did his "car", it was a rocket, all by himself this year.
He got the award for car that looked least like a car. His car wasn't the fastest, but it wasn't the slowest either. I think he had fun. I had several of the parents remark on his good sportsmanship.
My kids have been sick all week, and I am going crazy. I can only handle so much whining and staying at home all day. Don't get me wrong I feel bad for them and love on them, but I am about to loose it.
Enter crafting. Crafting is what I always do when I am stuck at home and am going crazy. I made this book bag. I got it from this site. It has the free printable and tutorial, super easy, and I liked the saying.
I made this sign, for my house, from a board and burlap.
Then I started playing with my camera and my new lens.
I made these cute little mini-mail boxes for Valentine's Day.
They have little Hersey Nuggets inside.
They are so cute and tiny, I could die!
I got a bur up my butt and decided the other day I wanted to make suckers. Don't ask why I just wanted to. I called my mom and got all her molds and then bought some more and some flavors.
My mom used to make these every year for us on our birthdays, so we could had them out to our class. My kids where completely fascinated by the whole process. You would think I practicing alchemy.

I can tell you busted out the good camera!
Sweet sucker shots, and those mini mailboxes... .luscious!
Poor little Becket... he looks painfully sweet and sick at the same time, it looks like an ad for some kids medicine. (cue sick redheaded kid, then cut to him happy and pink cheeked after he takes the meds)
If you did all those crafts in a few days you are a factory!
The big books quote is super.. Love it!
Scouts... I don't know what to say. I am ever so much with you on thinking of it as the dark side.
I wouldn't be so harsh if there were a similar equitable fun/growth program institutionalized into the church for girls.
When that happens I will totally back anyone wearing the shirts.
Good luck with the battle. I admire your willingness to jump in.
Funny, I have three boys and they never called me to scouts. I guess I got lucky. I guess they secretly knew I would not turn to the dark side as you put it. You ARE a crafty girl. You made some fun stuff though. Love the book bag in particular. Awesome!!
Scouting?! How thrilling...I can just see you having those boys make mini- matchbox cars, monsters, and whatnot. It'll be great....just keep repeating that over and over. Maybe it'll help?
I was terrible at scouting. If my mother in law hadn't helped the boys they would still be at the tenderfoot level (is that even the name of the first one?)
They actually really loved scouting. And I loved that she helped them :0)
What's not to love about a form fitting man-ish, bright yellow shirt, with a groovy neckerchief. Come on! (ok. neckerchief is a silly word. say that over and over and maybe IT will help :0)
Poor sick lil Beckett! He makes you want to just hold him while he burns up with fever. Dang!
Your photos with your new camera and lens are stunning Missy! Good on ya.
uh you got all that done..on top of blogging it all! Sorry it has been such a long week!/
Pictures look great sis! Don't use up all your stuff, we need something to do when I am come in February!)
PS I am waiting for my suckers to arrive:)
I've never been in scouting and I wouldn't love it, but on the bright side you aren't Primary President :). You're crafting is great. When I'm stuck home, I just sit on my butt and read.
