Back in the Saddle

I am back in the Saddle again.  I don't know why by I pretty much didn't blog for the whole month of February.
January and February we spent every weekend at basketball games for the boys.
Dillon is at the age that I actually like to watch him play.
Sometimes it was painful though.  Jerome's program consists of no practices (well a half hour before the game) and games once a week.
So the kids don't really improve very much and they don't get to know each other every well.
The referees are 12 year old, so sometimes the games got pretty interesting.
Truman......well this is the most energy he showed in the whole game.
He and his age group are really hard to watch.  Truman's philosophy seemed to be wherever the ball is be the furthest from it.
I did get some pictures of some sweet moves though.
Sometimes he would even figure out which was the right basket.
He is like his mother with the tongue, it does help I promise!

Be Careful What You Whine For

Yeah, my last post I was whining about how I had to stay at home all week with sick kids.  Well I learned (again) no matter what is going on it could always be worse.  Every so often Heavenly Father has to remind me.  Beckett got really sick Thursday.  Jason and I are pretty laid back when it comes to sickness, we have had to deal with a lot of different things.  Thursday Beckett slept the whole day, and I thought he was just exhausted from being sick and finally getting some rest.  No, not so much.  By that evening it was apperent that he was totaly lithargic and unresposive.  He was laboring really hard to breath and wasn't eating or drinking.  Yep you guessed it.  To the ER we go.

By the time I got to the ER his nose and lips had turned blue.  It was not cool.  He tested positive for RSV.  I don't know why RSV always hits my kids so hard, but it does.  He ended up having to be admitted into the hospital.  It as been like two years since we had to deal with any hospital visits.  I am so grateful for modern medicine. They hooked Beckett up to and IV and some oxygen and he was good to go.  Well almost, you know what I mean.
For the first couple of days he just slept the whole time.  Then he started to get a little more peppy.  My mom was a life saver!  I don't know what I would do without her!  She just dropped everything to come and take care of my kids because Jason had to work all weekend. She picked the kids up from school, took them to basketball games.  She even took them to a movie.  She did my laundry and cleaned my house. She is the best mom ever, she is always there when we need her!
We talked the doctor into letting us go on Sunday night.  Beckett still didn't have real high levels of oxygen in his blood, but he didn't necessarily need the oxygen anymore.  He was eating and drinking. I promised the doctor that he would get better quicker at home then there.  Beckett as going crazy and was so happy to come home.
Now I need to remember the next time I am whining about having to stay home with the kids, at least they are not in the hospital, right?

Pinewood Derby 2013

I am so excited, I got a new calling I am in Scouts, over the Bears.  My excitement is palpable, and if you don't sense my sarcasm seeping through...well then you don't know me very well.  I have been in Scouts before, and it was good for me, it made me not hate it anymore.  The reality is I have 3 boys, I should just go over to the dark side and embrace it.  But, I am not quite to that point yet maybe it's the shirt I have to wear, Yikes.
We had the pinewood derby this week.  Dillon did his "car", it was a rocket, all by himself this year.
He got the award for car that looked least like a car.  His car wasn't the fastest, but it wasn't the slowest either.  I think he had fun.  I had several of the parents remark on his good sportsmanship.
My kids have been sick all week, and I am going crazy.  I can only handle so much whining and staying at home all day.  Don't get me wrong I feel bad for them and love on them, but I am about to loose it.
Enter crafting.  Crafting is what I always do when I am stuck at home and am going crazy.  I made this book bag.  I got it from this site.  It has the free printable and tutorial, super easy, and I liked the saying.
I made this sign, for my house, from a board and burlap.
Then I started playing with my camera and my new lens.
I made these cute little mini-mail boxes for Valentine's Day.
They have little Hersey Nuggets inside.
They are so cute and tiny, I could die!
I got a bur up my butt and decided the other day I wanted to make suckers.  Don't ask why I just wanted to.  I called my mom and got all her molds and then bought some more and some flavors.
My mom used to make these every year for us on our birthdays, so we could had them out to our class.  My kids where completely fascinated by the whole process.  You would think I practicing alchemy.

Big News

We have BIG NEWS, and no I am not pregnant, so get that out of your head right now! Our Big News is that we are finally the proud new owners of R&R Pharmacy! Well the bank owns it, but who cares right. Yeay!  Just a side note, Jason realized during this whole process, that if you rearrange the first letters of our kids' names it spells DEBT.  I thought that was pretty funny personally.
After years of trying and things just not working out in, Idaho Falls, Rexburg, we even tried Arco (I know Jason was desperate) it has finally happened in awesome Jerome. What?
This is our little piece of the American Dream.  She's a beaut isn't she?
Okay not so much, but it's ours, and it's Jason's dream.  It has taken a lot for me to get to this point.  I am scared to death, and have had to put a ton of trust in Jason.  We moved here just for this.  I have been and am, trying to be supportive, but I am still "scared shitless" as my dad would say.  Wish us luck, we are going to need it!
This is Elleree and Beckett.  They are so cute together when they decide to get along.  The other day they were playing "hotel" and they were making food and eating it.  What cracked me up, was that Elleree was making Beckett say the prayer over the pretend food and she had put a napkin in his shirt.  She is so stinking bossy.  Nothing like her mother;)
I am so excited, I received my 3rd annual blog book.  This is the only reason I blog at all.  I figure it's a journal with pictures.  It's fun to look back at the other books each year and see how the kids have changed and grown.
I have been doing FHE consistently for about a year now.  I am very proud of myself. The kids are even getting used to it.  I do it whether Jason is home or not.  That is always what stopped me before, that he was never home on a consistent basis and consistency is a huge thing with FHE (for me).  But I just decided that I would have to do it with or without him.  So I do, he has tried to make more of an effort to be here.
It as been good for our family, I have to admit.
We made S'mores the other night for the treat, and Elleree ended up with chocolate from one end of her to the other.  Her shirt says it all.

Aniversery, Birthday, Other Stuff

Jason has a hard job around this time of year every year.  He have Christmas, Anniversary, and my Birthday all within a little over two weeks.  This year has been crazy for him with his dad's passing and him getting everything ready to buy the pharmacy.  We were kind of low key.
We celebrated our 13th Anniversary this year.  We just went out to lunch and then went and bought a new receiver for our theater room.  Now we can acctually use the room for what it is intended for, instead of just a big waste of space. Well it's still kinda a waste of space, but don't tell Jason that.
Next came my birthday.  Normaly I am sick, or my birthday just plain sucks.  Not this year though.  It was looking bad when I woke up to Beckett having pooped out of his diaper over night, but it did get better.
Jason always makes me a cake, love the smiley face candles and the minion figurine in the corner.
All four of the kids helped blow out the candles so there was no way I didn't get my wish.
I got presents from the kids and from family.
But the best gift Jason got me was a iPad Mini.
Well he had his mom win it for me off of Dealdash, which is why I am laughing.  It's not here yet, but I am super excited.
Beckett's new favorite thing is, not taking his shirt off when we put him in his jammies.  We love it when he sports the polo shirt under the footie pajamas.

In other news I finally decorated Elleree's Room.  Well, almost all the way.  I still have some other things I need to do.
I forgot to take pictures until I was already painting.
She got a lot of Owl stuff for Christmas to decorate with.  "Too much owl stuff and not enough la la loopsy stuff"  Elleree informed me later.
These bedrooms are huge, I tell ya.   I think it turned out okay though.

Elleree also imformed me after I was done painting and cleaning up that I was not a good mom.
When she grows up she is going to be a good mom.  She told me she will point out a good mom the  next time she sees one.  One reason I am not a good mom is because I don't let her have snacks before dinner.  Well there you have people.  All this time I thought there were other reasons I wasn't a good mom.  Now I know the truth.
Truman said I was a good mom though.  He said I was, because I make them popcorn and orange juliace and I make them do stuff, like their homework.

Christmas 2012

It's Christmas time.  I has been a long time since we spent Christmas Eve at anyone's house but our own.  It is difficult enough to pack all the kids and there crap up, little alone all the Christmas presents too.  We did it this year though.
Both of my brothers were there with their kids, except for Pierce.  Ivan managed to make it even though he hurt himself pretty badly at work a couple of days before.  He fell off some scaffolding about 20 feet.  He was really lucky!  He broke his leg in like two places and broke his ankle.  They put some pins in and he was in a soft cast until the swelling went down.  No good!
I love their little family.  Dakota is fun to have around, she is just sweet and cute!  Paisley as always didn't want her picture taken.  Her hair is getting so long it is like down to her butt.
My grandpa was able to spend Christmas Eve with us.  We played a few games and ate.  Made fun of each other, the usual at my house.
Most of kids in their Christmas Pajamas, getting them all to come and stand still is like herding a bunch of cats.
I didn't get very many pictures of Christmas morning because I video taped it.
The kids all got very spoiled, even if they don't think so.
I got spoiled most of all, Jason got me a new lens for my camera.  Now I can take pictures from far away.  Look out world here I come.
I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  I know we did!
